Winter Veil has begun in Azeroth. We’re taking a look at the official preview and what’s new this year.
Chill and be merry with your gnomies during the Feast of Winter Veil!
The fine folks of Smokywood Pastures aren’t letting anything get in the way of spreading holiday cheer—or gaining a bit of profit. Winter Veil has come to Azeroth, and with it come all the holiday’s fripperies, fineries, and delectable comestibles.
When: December 19 – January 5
Where: Initial holiday quests can be found in Orgrimmar and Ironforge, but festive decorations can be found throughout Azeroth.
New This Year in The War Within
‘Tis the season for celebration—the Feast of Winter Veil has arrived in Azeroth! Strongholds are decked out in festive cheer, gifts are stacked under the trees, and fresh items have been added to expand growing Collections.
Festive Baubles Make Happy Heroes
Don yourself in new seasonal threads available from the Holiday Vendors—wrap yourself in the seasons’ finest colors with the Festive Red Holiday and Festive Green Holiday transmog set pieces (coat, vest, sweater, shirt, pants, shorts, boots, and belt), along with mirthful Toys and Battle Pets to make loot-seekers’ spirits bright—seize your daily chance at getting the gift-thieving Grunch when you bring down the grumpy Greench.
The Abominable Greench Is (Still) a Mean One
The Abominable Greench is upping the ante after his Metzen-nabbing shenanigans with fresh rewards. We’re sure that once you’ve filled up on the fine foods and beverages from Smokywood Pastures, you’re bound to stop his reign of terror in the Hillsbrad Foothills. To make a long trek a bit merrier, hop aboard a festive sleigh ride from Dornogal to Ironforge or Orgrimmar for a connecting flight to rescue Metzen.
A Limited-Time Tameable Pet for Happy Hunters
For our heroic Hunters, a mysterious new tameable pet has arrived during the Feast of Winter Veil and can only be seen if you don the most festive threads. Head to the Old Hillsbrad Foothills, a Dungeon accessible in the Caverns of Time, and watch for the Dreaming Festive Reindeer. You must be wearing (or transmogrified) with the chest, waist, boots, and pants (or shorts) of the new Festive Green or Festive Red holiday cosmetics, Winter Veil Outfit (hat, chest, and boots), or have the cosmetic buff from the Disposable Winter Veil Suits toy.
Brilliantly Bestowed Bosses
The joyful season has inspired a variety of bosses across Azeroth to share in lighthearted fun by adorning themselves with hats, loot, and holiday decorations. However, don’t be fooled; just because they’re in the spirit of things doesn’t change their miserable motivations—you’ll want to battle as hard as usual to ensure they don’t sour the season. Here are the latest celebrants to adorn themselves for seasonal celebrations:
- Prioress Murrpray in Priory of the Sacred Flame
- Speaker Shadowcrown on The Dawnbreaker
- Benk Buzzbee in Cinderbrew Meadery
- Sikran in Nerub-ar Palace
Blow a /Kiss to a Winter Reveler
While in the Feast of Winter Veil spirit, toss a /kiss to a Winter Reveler found celebrating the season underneath a sprig of mistletoe in inns around Azeroth to be rewarded with a token of gratitude in the form of Mistletoe, Fresh Holly, or Handful of Snowflakes that can be used for a variety of Feast of Winter Veil achievements.
