Get ready for a game-changing quality-of-life feature in Monster Hunter Wilds! Alma, one of the companions that accompany you during your journey, is introducing an Automatic Item Pouch Management system that makes sure you are fully prepared before each hunt. No more last-minute scrambling to restock your healing items, traps, or rations—Alma has you covered!
How It Works
This feature is a bit hidden and never really announced out loud. If you listen carefully to what Alma says when you start a Hunting Quest, she will simply say something along the lines of: “I also gathered some items, I put them in your Pouch”. This is not really clear, and you may not have realised she actually is putting items in there.
When you head out on a quest, Alma will fill your Pouch with the necessary supplies! If you open it, you will find traps, potions… specifically needed for the monster you are about to fight! This means:
- Potions, Mega Potions, and Healing Items will be restocked if you are low.
- Traps and Bombs for capturing monsters will be added when applicable.
- Slinger Ammo such as Flash pods can also be found in there, with specific elements useful for the upcoming monster.
- Buff items will sometimes be included as well.
As a reminder, you can access your Item Pouch on your Seikret by:
- Pressing the D-pad left on controller
- Pressing N on keyboard.
Why This Feature Matters
One of the biggest challenges in Monster Hunter games has always been preparing for hunts efficiently. Forgetting a key item can make the difference between a smooth hunt and a frustrating failure. With Alma taking care of your inventory, you can focus entirely on the hunt itself. This minimizes downtime between quests.
However, keep in mind that she only refills with “basic” items. You still want to make sure to grab specific items before heading out on the hunt. This feature is also useful during the hunt itself: When the Monster runs away to another location, Alma refills the Pouch with potions.
Do not forget to eat before as well: She will not give you any buffs related to food (outside the basic rations).
