Monk’s Druid fantasy seems to have come to an end for now. 
Zen Flight seems to have lost its ability to interact with things while flying, so no more mining, fishing etc.
End of an Era?
Many players have noticed a sudden inability to do anything while in Zen Flight and promptly reported it. You basically can’t do the things you were able to before, like harvesting resources, fishing, and even mounting while in Zen Flight.
Blizzard hasn’t responded, so there’s still a possibility of this being some very strange bug or unintended consequence of another change, but considering how specific it is, that’s a bit less likely.
The second thread on the matter is slightly less subtle and focuses on the most relaxing of activities: fly(ing) fishing!
So are Monks really a second-class class compared to Druids? Is flight form really the only class-specific ability that is allowed to do gathering while flying? With unannounced changes like this it’s really hard to tell what Blizzard was thinking and why, suddenly after 7 years, it is no longer ok for the ability to work that way. There is always a chance this was being mass-exploited by bots or something similar, but that’s pure supposition for now.
Hopefully the sad now-grounded Monks affected by this will get an answer, or perhaps even a fix soon.
