More New World Season 10 Details Revealed!

AGS recently published their October Dev Update Video showcasing even more major updates coming to Season 10 of New World: Aeternum! Additionally, the team shared some in-game footage of multiple new end-game modes coming to the game, including the new 10-man Isle of Night raid, the Catacombs game mode, and even some visuals of the new Nighthaven zone. All of these changes will go live with the official launch of Season 10 on Monday, October 13, 2025.

The update video itself is almost 90 minutes, but we’ve highlighted the key points in the topics below and a quick overview video.

The New Isle of Night 10-Man Raid

An all-new 10-man raid is coming to New World: Aeternum, and it sounds like it will be structured in a similar way that the Hive of Gorgons raid is. This means that there will be a total of 3 bosses within the raid, and a handufl of unique puzzles in-between each that your raid will need to overcome.

One of the biggest updates regarding this raid is that there is no weekly limit on the loot you can acquire through the raid. In other words, you can continue to defeat the first boss in the raid over and over again to cotninuosuly receive two pieces of powerful gear!

Similar to the Hive of Gorgons raid, it seems like each of the three bosses drop specific types of weapons, such as armor, weapons, or jewelry.

The best way to prepare for the Isle of Night raid is by ensuring you have a strong 10-man team ready to go and three Major Lost Combat Trophies!

As you can tell from the image below, some of these new bosses look terrifying.

Hidden Tarot Cards

Throughout Nighthaven (the new end-game zone), you will come across unique cards scattered in hard-to-find areas. By interacting with them, you will be able to unlock the ability to access open unique elite chests within the new Highthaven area.

These seem to function similarly to how the Ancient Glyph system works today in the Brimstone Sands area, so be sure to keep a look out for all of these different Tarot cards!

Gear Changes

There will be major gear changes in Season 10 of New World: Aeternum. This includes a range of New World artifacts getting complete revamps, the removal of attributes on gear, a rework of multiple perks (including the removal of Hearty), new gear sets, and much, much more. Additionally, max gear score will now be set to 800.

New Umbral Shard System

With the increase of max gear score from 725 to 800, all gear that is at least at 700 gear score can be upgraded through the new Umbral Shard system being introduced to the game. These umbral shards can be acquired through a handful of activities, including mutated expeditions, raids, elite chests, all PvP modes, and the Catacombs game mode.

Gear Sets

new, powerful gear that will be part of specific gear sets will also be introduced in Season 10 of New World. These sets will provide unique buffs to players based on the specific set and the number of set pieces the player has equipped from the respective set.

The image below highlights a preview of what AGS has in mind in regards to set bonuses. In this example, the “Enrage” set has a total of 5 unique pieces. You gain a specific bonus if you have one peice of this set equipped. This bonus gets stronger once you have three pieces equipped, and then reaches it’s maximum power when you have 5 pieces equipped.

Some sets may have 2 pieces in total, or even 6 depending on the set!

Boosted M3 Rewards

Mutated Expeditions (specifically M3s) will also be revamped, as they’ll gain the chance of having powerful 4-perk items drop from enemies within them. We are still waiting on more information on the specific types of items that are obtainable through these mutated expeditions, but they will likely be useful for most players as they continue to explore some of the most difficult PvE content in the game!

Catacombs

Catacombs in an all-new PvE game mode where groups of up to three players can explore an extraction-like experience. These will introduce a totally new, repeatable type of end-game content, as every time you enter the Catacombs, you are not sure what you will encounter! There are many, many alternative Catacombs maps and challenges that you may face, making every entrance a fresh, unique experience!

Stay tuned for more information on all of these changes coming to season 10 of New World: Aeternum!
