With World of Warcraft Player Housing arriving on December 2nd, herbs are about to become the most in-demand crafting materials in the game. Whether you’re planning to decorate your own home on a budget, or you want to flip dyes on the Auction House, now is the time to start stockpiling before prices skyrocket!
Luckily for us, Kido has created the ultimate cheat sheet for herbs, pigments, and dyes:

This useful table colour coordinates all herbs you will need, which expansion they are found in, and which colour dyes they create.
Dye Crafting Basics
Currently on the Midnight Beta, the ratio for crafting dyes is as follows:
- 10 Herbs = 1 Pigment = 1 Dye
- Pigments convert directly into dyes at a 1:1 ratio
No Profession Levelling Required
Whilst you need to have learned either Alchemy or Inscription, your skill level will be irrelevant. Once you have learned either profession, you can visit your local Dye Station in Razorwind Shores or Founder’s Point straight away to start crafting your dyes.

If you don’t have Alchemy or Inscription, and you’re not interested in making a dye-crafting alt, don’t worry—you’ll still be able to buy dyes on the Auction House. Especially in the early days of Player Housing, this convenience will likely come at a premium as demand surges.
Are you planning to craft your own dyes, or will you brave the early AH prices instead?
