Do Not Get Left Behind in Midnight Season 1: Prepare With These Tips

Midnight Season 1 starts the week of March 17, and there is a lot you can do right now to prepare for it. We have compiled a list of things to do to ensure your character is at its strongest for the offensive against Xal’atath!

Get Champion Gear from Renown and World Event Quests

Gear sources before Season 1 starts are very limited. Before Season 1 starts, you’re able to obtain four pieces of Champion Gear upon reaching certain reputation thresholds with the Renown factions of Midnight: a Helm, a Necklace, a Belt, and a Trinket.

Learn how to obtain these four pieces of gear in this news post.

Get Veteran Gear from Mythic Dungeons

During the weeks leading to Midnight Season 1, the 8 new Midnight dungeons are available on a weekly lockout and drop il240, Veteran 3/6 gear. Don’t forget to do a M0 World Tour for the first two weeks for some gear!

In Midnight Season 1, Mythic dungeons will be bumped to a daily lockout and drop Champion gear.

Work on Prey for Veteran Gear and Unlock Nightmare Mode

Players are able to engage in Hard Mode Prey starting this week. Hard Mode Prey drops il233 Veteran 1/6 gear twice a week. Each Hard Mode Prey also gives 15 Veteran Dawncrest iconVeteran Dawncrest, including random Hunts unlocked via the Preyseeker’s Journey, which makes Prey a fast way to finish Dawncrests solo if needed.

You can also do Normal Mode Prey for 2 pieces of Adventurer-level gear if you still need to fill in slots.

You will also want to work on Prey in preparation for Midnight Season 1. Nightmare difficulty unlocks at Preyseeker’s Journey Rank 4, starting in Season 1. The hardest difficulty Preys come with the highest rewards: Champion-level gear for the first 2 Nightmare Prey hunts completed for the week.

Grind Delves to Tier 7 and Work on Valeera Curios

Not much has changed with Delves compared to Early Access, as the Delver’s Journey is locked until the start of Season 1.

What you can do right now to prepare for Season 1, however, is grind your way to Tier 7 so you can start Delves at Tier 8 once the season starts. You can also get all Valeera Sanguinar curios at Rank 1 during this process, so you’re ready to customize her to best suit your needs once the Season starts properly.

Prepare your Professions for Season 1

Players can already work on their professions, but Season 1 is where crafts become really valuable. With Raids and Mythic+ becoming available, the demand for crafted goods such as Potions, Gems, Food, and Enchants will definitely go up, as players look to enhance more permanent pieces of gear.

With Upgrade Crests becoming more readily available as well (and seasonal caps going up), players will be more enticed to start crafting their higher pieces of gear, including those with Embellishments. Learn more about Professions in Midnight with our guides:

Weekly Checklist

The start of a new season is always exciting, but Midnight has brought many changes, including a revamp of the Upgrade Crest system that streamlines the process but also changes how your priorities for upgrading should go.

If the new Upgrade Crest system confuses you, use Larias’ Midnight Raider Guide for a streamlined guide on what to do every week!
