Zenless Zone Zero 2.7 Is Making the Game Better in All the Right Ways

With Version 2.7 arriving this week, Zenless Zone Zero is not just adding new content and Agents, but it is also improving a lot of the game’s rough edges. HoYoverse’s latest Ridu Renovation Talk focuses heavily on quality-of-life updates, and this time, the changes are less about big features and more about making everything feel better to use.

Better and Faster Navigation

A large part of the update focuses on making systems easier to understand right from the start. Things like the Intel Board are getting smarter, with better indicators for commissions, clearer warnings if you have not unlocked the required stages, and improved tracking for things like Contribution Points.

Menus are also becoming more practical overall. You will be able to filter Agents more easily, sort W-Engines by name, and quickly see which characters can activate their potential without digging through multiple screens.

Same idea for social systems. Outposts are getting small upgrades too, like better visibility for friends and a bit more control over what you show to others. Nothing huge, but it adds up.

Combat and Endgame Systems

There are still some gameplay changes in there, though. New enemy mechanics are being added, including a Corruptive Barrier that buffs enemies and also slowly drains your team’s HP. The interesting part is that breaking it does not just remove the problem, but it even heals your team and gives resources back, and that could make fights feel a bit more dynamic.

Endgame is also getting a bit more structure. Shiyu Defense now has a leaderboard once you reach the top ranks, so there is at least something to chase beyond just clearing it. You can now see how you rank compared to other players! This is a good way of determining if your builds still need some adjustments, or if you are future-proof!

There is also a new Battle Trial with specific scoring rules for certain agents, but that seems more aimed at players who like optimizing runs.

Overall, this is not the kind of update that completely changes the game. But it does look like one of those patches where everything just feels a bit better to play after, and fewer menus to fight with.

And honestly, that is probably what the game needed most right now.
