Ubisoft is finally ready to show more of its long-rumored remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag! The “Black Flag Resynced” Worldwide Reveal Showcase will go live on April 23 at 09:00 am PDT / 18:00 CEST.
The most interesting part of this upcoming livestream is that all signs point towards a full reveal rather than just a short teaser, which is very exciting!
You can watch it live on the official Ubisoft YouTube channel:
Early Footage Is Already Out There
Before Ubisoft even had a chance to show anything officially, clips and screenshots were shared online. The difference from the original is pretty noticeable right away.
From what is out there, the remake looks heavily focused on visual upgrades:
- Lighting is much more dynamic, especially in ocean and sunset scenes
- Water looks significantly better, with improved reflections and depth
- Environments are denser with better textures
- Character models look more refined up close
Direct comparisons to the original are already going around too:
It looks a lot more like a modern game, at least from what has leaked so far.
Waiting for the Full Reveal
None of this is official yet, and early footage does not always match the final version of the game we will get to see. Ubisoft’s showcase should clarify how much of the game has really been reworked, what gameplay systems are changing, and how ambitious this remake truly is.
Black Flag remains one of the most beloved entries in the franchise, and a modern remake sets expectations quite high. We will recap everything that was shared during the upcoming livestream, so make sure to keep an eye out for that.
