Most Played and Top-Performing Specs in the Raids, 12.0.7 Week 4

Things are calming down a little after the tuning pass. Except in Sporefall, that is, as things are still getting sorted out there. Player numbers are still dropping pretty solidly, but not quite as fast as in Mythic+. Balance is still the big winner of the tuning pass in the raids, and it’s looking like Augmentation and the non-BM Hunters are doing well too.

Note: We are using normalized scores instead of raw DPS for the Warcraft Logs rankings. Normalized scores take into account the outlier boss fights where certain specs could stack massive DPS (due to the nature of the fight, whether it’s AoE spam or something else), which would then affect their overall score for the whole raid.

Mythic

Most Played Specs (DR,VS. MQD)

We don’t have much movement in the top 10, aside from Demonology taking down Devourer in 4th place. The overall numbers are down, as expected, with the No.1 spec dropping almost 10k logs, but the losses drop pretty quickly after that, with 2nd place dropping only 6k, and 3rd only 5k. Even the rising Demonology dropped around 5K. The dead-last spec, Assassination, is one of the only ones actually gaining some players, up 300 a 1.5K.

Mythic Spec Population

Sporefall

Sporefall sees an even bigger drop and is still very much behind the original three Midnight raids. The top 3 specs drop 11K, 8K, and 7K, respectively. In terms of the specs themselves, Havoc is making any moves in the top 10, gaining two spots, while Subtlety drops three spots and out of the top 10.

The tuning pass pushed Balance all the way to the top, eclipsing Augmentation as Marksmanship drops two spots to third. The Demon Hunters have themselves a little swap, as Devourer moves into Havoc’s old 4th spot, while the OG DPS DH finds itself four spots down in 8th. Windwalker is on the move as well, climbing two right in between the very stable Survival and Frost DK.

The big mover for the week, however, is Devastation, a spec we haven’t heard much about in a long time. It finds itself in 9th place, an impressive seven up from last week.

We still have two Hunters at the top in the generalist bracket, but Frost Mage is making a bit of a comeback and takes its fellow Frost down a peg. Subtlety is hanging in there, still in 5th, despite Balance knocking on its door after taking Devourer down for 6th place. Augmentation is also on the rise, finding itself two spots up in 8th. Unholy sneaks into the top 10, as Destruction drops out.

Sporefall

Sporefall is still pretty hectic on a week-to-week basis. Arcane holds on to the top easily, but we then immediately see some changes. Survival is having a bad one, as both Destro and Fury pass it by. Devourer takes down Affliction in 5th, and Windwalker pokes past Subtlety in 7th.

Heroic

Most Played Specs

Heroic had already fallen a huge amount, so this week’s drops are smaller by comparison. But we still see almost all specs with a lower count, the top 3 losing 3k, 2k, and 1k.
