This week, the WoW: Forever Podcast is joined by Josh “Aggrend” Greenfield, Jay Hartman, Rowan Ryder, and special guest hammerdance to bring us a deep dive into Dungeons in WoW Forever!
Racial Traits
While not a part of today’s beta update, the team is taking a second look at some Racial abilities that are a little too strong. Specifically, the Orc and Troll active abilities are currently too powerful. Additionally, the team is considering whether Weapon Skill passives belong in the game. The team will work on these racials, and there could be some changes coming as part of next week’s beta build.
SD Skyborne Models
Recently, Blizzard revealed that they are working on SD versions of the Skyborne models, along with their various Druid forms.

Aggrend confirmed that this model update will become available as part of WoW Forever’s first major content patch, in early 2027.
Dungeon Experience Changes
The dungeon experience rates are being tuned actively, and they are listening to player feedback. The philosophy around dungeon runs is that the developers don’t want players to feel like it’s only worth running a dungeon one time. To reflect this, dungeon enemies will reward 20% increased experience in the next update.

However, there is a fine line, and the team doesn’t want dungeon grinding to become the optimal way to level in WoW Forever. The developers want there to be a good balance between running dungeons for gear and turning in dungeon quests for big bursts of experience.
Raid Attunements in WoW Forever
While there will not be an attunement process for the new raids, there may be certain items that players will need to bring to the instance in order to access certain content. This could be similar to the dousing process that was present in Molten Core.

The developers want to use Attunement quests to set the stage and tell great stories associated with the raids. At launch, Onyxia’s Lair will be the only raid that has a traditional Attunement process.
