Yesterday, players discovered that Horde members could gain access to Dalaran—and even start earning Kirin Tor reputation—after completing the new City of Dalaran dungeon quests.
Thankfully, Josh Greenfield aka Aggrend has shed some light on the situation. While he doesn’t go into full detail, he clarifies that Blizzard do not intend the Horde to have “full access to Dalaran.”
Greenfield also clarified that Horde members definitely should not be earning Kirin Tor reputation, with this change already being made, but will not be reflected until next week.
Whilst some Horde members may be disappointed to not be able to stroll through the streets of Dalaran, the change is one that preserves the spirit of WoW Forever. Forever promised us true faction conflict, and Dalaran remained exclusively Alliance city until Wrath of the Lich King. Having neutral cities in Forever would feel like a slippery slope towards Retail, where faction conflict seems like a thing of the past.
Some players are calling for the Horde to have a “similarly impressive city” in the future, but really, if three tents and a mud hut isn’t your vibe, perhaps you should consider switching factions. If WoW Forever is set on one thing, it’s reigniting that Horde vs Alliance tension!
