Stop Vendoring These Two Deadmines Drops in WoW Forever

Your next profession upgrade might come from a dungeon boss rather than just from further skill increases. WoW Forever has added crafting bonuses to some familiar drops, giving you a reason to hold onto gear you’d normally sell once you find something better. So far, these are the drops we know about, but we suspect there may be additional ones in the future.

Smelting Pants iconSmelting Pants drop from Gilnid and, when equipped, reduce the crafting time of Smelt Copper iconSmelt Copper, Smelt Tin iconSmelt Tin, Smelt Bronze iconSmelt Bronze, and Smelt Silver iconSmelt Silver by 25%. They’re leather leggings that require Level 16, so cloth wearers will have to leave this particular crafting outfit behind. The bonus only covers those four recipes, but Miners might want to keep a pair for processing their early materials.

Cookie's Stirring Rod iconCookie’s Stirring Rod has a bonus with more lasting appeal: 25% increased Cooking speed while equipped. Cookie drops this Level 17 wand, making it available to Mages, Priests, and Warlocks. Its effect isn’t limited to early recipes, giving those classes a reason to keep it for preparing food even after they’ve replaced it as a weapon.

These are the kinds of small additions I’d like to see more of in WoW Forever. Giving dungeon loot a useful profession effect makes it worth looking at beyond the combat stats when deciding what to keep. Cookie’s wand is a particularly good example, since its Cooking bonus can remain useful long after you’ve outgrown Deadmines and lower-level recipes.

Have you found any other dungeon drops with profession bonuses? Let us know in the comments!
