The WoW Forever Beta is over, and the official launch is next week! But first, players will have the chance to reserve their character names—starting TODAY!
Blizzard released a post outlining the details, however, here are the start times as a reminder:
Name Reservation Start Times
- Europe: October 27 at 18:00 CET
- North America: October 27 at 1:00 p.m. PDT
- Korea: October 28 at 07:00 KST
- Taiwan: October 28 at 07:00 CST
Players who have purchased the Skyborne Heroic Pack, Skyborne Epic Pack, or Warcraft Forever Collection will be able to reserve up to 3 character names later today.
How to Prepare
Early name reservation will be held through the Forever game client. When early reservation begins, launch the game, choose your ruleset, and reserve your names.
As a precaution, you’ll want to make sure your graphics drivers and battle.net are all up to date.
Early Name Reservation GuideChoosing a Name
WoW Forever has drawn lots of attention for introducing first and last names, allowing for increased freedom, creativity, and identity when naming characters. However, we all saw during the Beta how some players abused this system, leading to account suspensions and bans.
Just in case you need to brush up on the rules, here are a few naming guidelines from Blizzard:
A Few Naming Guidelines
Some name rules still apply. Character names must continue to adhere to the in-game code of conduct for names. Certain names, words, spellings, and repeated-character patterns may be restricted, including names that could create confusion, impersonate Blizzard or the World of Warcraft team, or conflict with existing naming policies. The system can also evaluate both parts of the name together, so separating a restricted word across the two names will not necessarily make it valid.
As with character names today, desired names cannot be guaranteed. Early Name Reservation will be available from October 27 through November 3, 2026, for eligible upgrade purchases. During that window, names will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. If the full name you want is already taken or does not meet the naming requirements, you will need to choose another combination—or take a chance with the trusty in-game random name generator.
Good luck!
