A recent Reddit post has sparked confusion among Genshin Impact fans after a player discovered that Vajrada Amethyst Silver, alongside other similar items, has only a 2,000 inventory cap, much lower than the standard 9,999 limit applied to most items.
Players often hoard resources in Genshin Impact like cooking materials, Enhancement Ore, or even Local Specialties up to 9,999. However, the 2,000 cap on boss-drop materials like Vajrada Amethyst Silver has left many puzzled. The limit is oddly restrictive, especially since these gems are time gated to an extent and other items in the game do not have this restriction.
Why Does This Cap Exist?
HoYoverse hasn’t clarified the reasoning, but the community has some theories including it simply being due to legacy systems or to not hit a specific integer limit. As one user points out, however, this is extremely weird.
Ultimately though, this isn’t game-breaking in any sense just an odd quirk in the design of Genshin Impact. If you ever hit this limit you can simply craft them into higher tier versions. It is unknown if those versions also have a cap but the amount required to fully cap out all tiers of this item is incredibly high.
