Dune: Awakening Postponed – New Release Date Confirmed!

Dune: Awakening, the highly anticipated open-world survival MMO from Funcom, has officially been delayed. The studio announced that the game’s release date has been moved to June 10th, 2025, with a head start available for select players on June 5th.

What Is Dune: Awakening?

Dune: Awakening is an exciting multiplayer survival game set in the harsh, unforgiving world of Arrakis. Players will battle both the planet’s deadly natural elements and each other as they struggle for resources, power, and survival. The game combines various gameplay, open-world exploration, and a player-driven economy, all within the lore of the iconic Dune franchise.

Funcom describes Dune: Awakening as a: “Groundbreaking project in the survival MMO space, aiming to deliver large-scale multiplayer battles, complex political intrigue, and deep social systems in a setting where danger lurks at every turn — including beneath the sands“.

New Release Date Confirmed

In an official statement, the Dune: Awakening team explained that the decision to delay the launch was made to give the developers extra time to polish the game and address feedback. The team emphasized their commitment to delivering a high-quality experience. They stated that three additional weeks would allow them to implement important improvements ahead of release.

Dune: Awakening will now launch on June 10th, 2025. Early access players can start on June 5th.
