The upcoming ROG Xbox Ally handhelds did not have a price tag yet, however, it seems Asus made a tiny mistake! A product listing briefly spotted on ASUS’s official website revealing the expected pricing for both versions of the device, well before any official announcement.
According to the leak, the standard ROG Xbox Ally will launch at €599, while the premium ROG Xbox Ally is listed at €899. Although ASUS has yet to officially confirm these numbers, the fact that the information appeared on the company’s own storefront makes this slip especially credible.
Two Versions, Two Price Points
The ROG Xbox Ally lineup includes two models designed to meet different needs and budgets:
- ROG Xbox Ally (Base Model)
- 16 GB RAM
- 512 GB storage
- Geared toward casual or budget-conscious gamers
- ROG Xbox Ally X (High-End Model)
- Ryzen Z2 Extreme chip
- 24 GB RAM
- 1 TB storage
- 1080p display
- Adaptive triggers for enhanced gameplay
Both devices are powered by Windows 11 and are being developed in partnership with Xbox, aiming to mix the flexibility of PC gaming with the ease of a console-like experience. A standout feature is the custom “Xbox Full Screen Experience”: a unified UI designed for handheld play that brings together Xbox, Game Pass, Battle.net, and other PC libraries.
A Growing Market for Portable Gaming
Following the success of Valve’s Steam Deck in 2022, major tech brands have started pushing into the handheld PC gaming space. ASUS and Microsoft’s collaboration on the ROG Xbox Ally is a direct response to this trend, offering a powerful, portable alternative with tight integration into the Xbox ecosystem.
Microsoft has also confirmed it is not stopping with just the Ally series. Starting in 2026, the company plans to roll out additional Windows 11 handheld gaming optimizations for other manufacturers as well, which means long-term commitment to the portable gaming.
