The latest Genshin Impact Special Program just started, and yes, there is a lot to come for Version 5.8. We have all the details right here! From new events and story updates to a super cool new Bennett skin, a ton of rewards, and more.
The livestream started off with a pretty cool trailer for the summer event, Ineffa, and more! You can watch it here:
New Characters for Version 5.8 & Banners
Listed here are all the new characters that will release in Version 5.8 as showcased on the livestream:
- Ineffa – Her first encounter with the Traveler is rather special. As she deactivates, she mumbles something about “going home”. But where is her home?
- Ineffa is a multifunctional household robot, and the Traveler’s job will be to discover how to reach her family, coming from Nod-Krai.
- Ineffa is equipped with cleaning, cooking, chatting, and combat modules! She was created by someone named Aino.
- Ineffa is the first Nod-Krai character we meet, and she brings a new reaction called Lunar-Charged.
- Lunar-Charged reactions create a thundercloud on top of enemies, consistently dealing damage. She opens a lot of possibilities for electro and hydro characters.
- Both Ineffa and Ajaw most likely have similar origins, as they both have pixels integrated to their designs!
- Ineffa and Citlali will be featured during Phase One of version 5.8
- Mualani and Chasca will be re-runnning for Phase Two of version 5.8

Summer Event – Sunspray Summer Resort
It is finally time for another summer vacation! The Sunspray Summer Resort will be located on an Island on the west coast of Natlan, ready to open! The Traveler will have to test out the new resort.
This time, the summer event zone will remain permanent! You will always be able to access it, so no more need to rush through the Summer activities. The event quest is permanent as well. The mini-games, skin, and weapon, are limited in time, however, and will disappear from the zone once the event part ends. Once the event part ends, they will not be obtainable anymore.
This also means you can find the usual collectibles all over the summer resort zone:
- Pyroculus
- Chests
- And more!
The Resort zone is split into 4 sub-areas:
- Wavey Bay – Zone near the water. You can relax on the beach, or join Mualani for some surf training!
- Guiztli Ridge – Natlan’s Shooting Range. Time to train your aim.
- Colorfall Cliffs – The one place you want to visit for the best view!
- Tete Isle – Venti‘s favorite place where he can sing and drink all day and night long.
Bennett will also join the festivities in Natlan, and even get his own new skin!
Do not worry, Bennett’s skin will be obtainable for free! All you need to do is take part in the Sunspray Summer Resort event! Get ready for Benny’s adventure team to get new members!
The Holiday Resort will also have plenty of other surprises in stock for you, such as:
- Asha’s – little Monetoo-like creatures that you can control and use to spray paint and express your creativity. Since the resort is still under construction, it is your job to help the Asha paint the remaining walls!
- Painting certain areas can reveal chests and other secrets.
- Wavey Bay Koholasaur Slide – Control Mualani and slide through the activity!
- Guiztli Ridge Shooting Range – Join Chasca for some really cool shooting training!
- Colorfall Cliffs – Board a hot air balloon and admire the entire resort from above!
- Tete Isle Music Festival – After exploring the Resort, you can go relax on Tete Isle. Enjoy the music, get some drinks, and keep an eye on Venti.
- Multiple mini-games:
- Travels Are Fuller With Friends: some sort of 2D platforming thing where you control 2 characters and have to lead them to their destination.
- Strikers Through the Storm: use your gunslinging skills to shoot down targets.
- With Flying (Graffiti) Colors: spray paint objects as much as possible to score the most points!
- A Feast for the Senses: use music to defeat your enemies.
As mentioned already, taking part in the Sunspray Summer Resort Event will reward you with Bennett’s skin. But that is not the only exclusive reward! You can also obtain a free event-exclusive Claymore, Flame-Forged Insight, and its weapon refinement materials, as well as Primogems and more!
However, the resort is not all fun and party! As always, trouble is not far. Between Hilichurls stealing materials, and staff members seeing ghosts, the Traveler will have a lot to uncover!

- Join Ororon and Ifa for a fishing competition.
- Help out Yelan with an investigation linking Fontaine and Liyue, and get her new outfit! However, the skin is not free, and you will have to buy it through the shop if you want it.
- Mementos of Teyvat: prelude of the Frozen Veil. This event will let you take photos of everyone before you leave for Snezhnaya.
- New music and instruments for the Repertoire of Myriad Melodies.
- New TCG updates, including Natlan NPC to challenge.
- Ley Line Overflow returns as well.
- System Optimizations:
- Short tutorial videos will be added to the trial and talent screens.
- Quest Time Interface Optimization. Navigate automatically to your quest, the clock will adjust itself to the required time.
- Harvestable Tracking Optimization. You will directly see which character can spot the nearby local specialisties.
- An official Genshin Impact IP exhibition will take place in Paris. From initial character sketches to monster designs, you will be able to check out things that we’ve never seen before!
- The Expo will take place at 10 Passage de la Canopée, 75001 Paris, France, from September 13 to September 21, 2025.
