Ethereals have long been near the top of the most-wanted Allied Races, right up there with Sethrak and Naga. And wouldn’t you know it, we’re heading to their homeworld in the next patch cycle! While that in itself was a pretty big hint, another one popped up on the 11.2 PTR. And it comes from Enchanting of all places! Who says professions are tedious?

Spotted by phatman2077, enchanters will be getting a new recipe! The 
Gleeful Glamour – Ethereal enchant disguises you as an Ethereal, but that’s not quite what we meant by them being playable. All the other “Gleeful Glamour” enchants are exclusively of playable races! And that’s not all when it comes to hints, as Lt_Spacedonkey pointed out. The timing of the enchant unlock is also interesting, as it arrives with week 8 of the Manaforge: Omega raid Renown – which should coincide with the 11.2.5 launch! .5 patches are the perfect fit for an Allied Race addition, with some questing content to back it up! And while 11.2.5 may not be the target, another great one would be the Midnight pre-patch!
The entirety of the 11.2 patch cycle storyline obviously revolves around the Ethereals and their homeworld. We get to find out about its World Soul and Xal’atath gets involved as well (which rarely ends well). As Dimensius is the raid’s final boss, it’s still unclear whether we actually defeat him or if something really bad happens at the end of Manforge: Omega. The potential 11.2.5 Allied Race questline could tie right into that, as the Ethereals might lose K’aresh for good, and move back to Azeroth with us! Of all the Allied Races, the Etherals do have one of the most compelling stories and reasons to join, considering everything they’ve been through.
So, are Etherals coming in the 11.2 patch cycle? Will the enchant glamour arrive before they become playable, or has it been meticulously timed to coincide with it?
