Acquire, the renowned JRPG studio behind Way of the Samurai, Tenchu, and co-developer of Octopath Traveler and Mario & Luigi: Brothership, has three new projects in development with Red Dunes Games.
According to a report from Forbes, Acquire is developing three new projects with Red Dunes Games.
The projects are code-named Project Tremor (“city-shaking kaiju battles”), Project Umbra (“dark fantasy hunts”), and Project Shadowcar (“shadowy espionage thriller”).
Who Aare Red Dunes Games?

For those unfamiliar, Red Dunes Games is an indie studio with several upcoming titles, including Silent Planet, Princess of the Water Lilies, and Port of Jumanah.
While Red Dunes hasn’t released any games yet, they’re teaming up with Acquire to kick off their catalog with a strong start. Red Dunes Games is also publishing Black Finger JET, a game developed by Acquire.
Each title is planned for PC and major consoles, with multilingual support included. No release dates or windows have been announced yet. However, initial reveals are expected at upcoming events, including the Tokyo Game Show in late September 2025.
