All Changes Coming to Ashes of Creation’s Alpha Two Phase Three

Ashes of Creation’s Alpha Two Phase Three is right around the corner, and will officially launch on August 26, 2025. The current state of the game is not the best, and that’s very much due to the state of open-development methodology of constant changes and adjustments as players progress their characters. However, all of these changes and updates are helping the team get Ashes of Creation in the best spot possible for the next phase, ultimately leading to the official launch of the game.

Additionally, there was a recent announcement around expanded access to the Private Test Realm (PTR). Starting on July 1, all Alpha Two testers have been officially invited to participate in the PTR, providing even more opportunities to test out new systems, weapons, and features within Ashes of Creation.

So, what exactly has everyone been testing, and what can we expect to see that’s new in Ashes of Creation’s Alpha Two Phase Three?

What’s New in Alpha Two Phase Three?

There will be major changes coming to Ashes of Creation with the launch of Phase Three, ranging from almost every category within the game, including crafting, gear, PvP, races, quests, zones, nodes, caravans, and much, much more. If you want to visually get a better idea of some of these changes, watch the video below.

In summary, the following updates will be made in Alpha Two Phase Three:

  • New starting zone known as “The Anvils” which will include 8 pocket dungeons, 28 quests, and 15 open-world events.
  • Two new Ashes of Creation races to select from when creating your character, including the Py’Rai and Nicua races.
  • Gear updates that will adjust overall stats and “set bonuses” that could lead to procs and other combat-specific benefits.
  • The ability to lock-in specific gear within certain slots.
  • Revamped guild system which will include an updated guild leveling process, new and streamlined guild skills to select from, and even guild-based activities that could net unique rewards and experience.
  • Dynamic lawless points of interest (POI), cycling certain zones into an automatically-flagged territory, increasing overall risk, but also reward. While defeating mobs within these dynamic lawless POIs, overall experience and drop rates will be increased.
  • Dynamic spawning of different types of gatherables.
  • Updates to the commission board quests and rewards associated with them.
  • The introduction of certain cosmetics will be rolled out this phase based on the tier of individuals’ accounts.
  • An all-new “Crate” system that will provide players with another “Risk vs Reward” activity to generate additional gold and PvP activities.
  • Updates to the overall Node system, including level 4 nodes.
  • Guild storage will be added.
  • Updates to how NPCs interact with each other and the open world (bears might scratch their backs on trees, drink out of rivers, fight other NPC mobs, etc.)
  • Five new weapons to test out and redefine your build (Rapier, One-Handed Ace, Two-Handed Spear, Two-Handed Mace, Two-Handed Axe).
  • The Summoner class will be added (likely not until September 2025).

This list goes on and on, but it’s clear that there are many new systems, activities, and updates coming to Ashes of Creation at the start of Phase Three!
