If you needed a reason to return to the PS5’s 2024 Game of the Year, Astro Bot just dropped a major one. A new free update is now live, adding five ultra-challenging Vicious Void Galaxy levels, and surprise appearances from some of PlayStation’s most iconic characters.
Five New Vicious Void Galaxy Levels Out Now
Starting today, Astro Bot players can test their skills in five new punishing platforming challenges:
- Twin-Frog Trouble
- Suck It Up
- Handhold Havoc
- High Inflation
- A mystery fifth level you will have to discover yourself
Each level ramps up the difficulty and introduces new Special Bots to find and collect. This update pushes the game past 90 levels in total.
New Cameos: Cloud Strife and More!
This update also brings long-awaited Square Enix cameos to the Astro universe, and they are not just Easter eggs:
- Serge (Chrono Cross) appears in Twin-Frog Trouble
- 2B (NieR: Automata) shows up in Suck It Up
- Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy VII) can be unlocked after beating High Inflation
- Atsu (Ghost of Yōtei) appears in Handhold Havoc
- Sephiroth is featured in the final level, Megamix Mastery
Complete the right levels, and you will unlock these icons for your hub area, including Cloud, whose cameo has been one of the most requested since the game’s launch.
