Battlefield 6 Beta Hits 334K Players on Day One

The hype is real. During the first day of Battlefield 6’s Early Access Open Beta, the player count has skyrocketed to the 334k player mark. This incredible achievement has made Battlefield 6 the 38th most-played game on Steam of all time by concurrent players.

This is all according to SteamDB, thus marking Battlefield 6 as Steam’s most popular Battlefield launch ever. What’s even more extraordinary is that these peak numbers are only during the Early Access portion of the Open Beta. These numbers only come from a portion of the audience who have managed to obtain a code to play two days early before the full Open Beta begins.

Back in the Saddle Again

While the excitement before the beta hasn’t gone unnoticed, as before the Early Access launch, over 9000 players on Steam alone were already sitting in the pre-loaded beta, customizing their profile and settings before servers were even online.

The level of excitement surrounding Battlefield 6 truly reflects the fanbase’s desire for the game to succeed in the long term. Perhaps this is a more significant indication that gamers prefer more grounded, militaristic experiences over the direction other games, such as Call of Duty, have taken.

It’s also good to see that, despite the initial backlash over EA’s anti-cheat and Battlefield 6’s requirement for a secure boot to run, the player base is showing a significant amount of investment. Hopefully, the game lives up to the expectations beyond the initial hype phase.

When Can You Play Battlefield 6’s Beta?

The Early Access period only lasts from August 7th to 8th. Whereas the floodgates will fully open starting August 9th through the 10th, and again the following weekend. Only then will we see a possible further spike in the game’s overall player count.

But, if you are still waiting on a key to get into the early access, remember you can earn Twitch Drops while you wait for the Open Beta. We will keep you updated with more info as the game releases, so keep an eye on our latest news!
