Blizzard Says Season 3 Dungeons Will Be Easier — Final Pre-11.2 PTR Dungeon Tuning

Blizzard have announced the final wave of PTR dungeon testing before 11.2’s launch, as well as detailed some big changes coming.

Most importantly, even after increasing enemy health by 10%, Blizzard explain that Season 3 dungeons should feel easier than Season 2’s equivalents! Dungeon testing begins today and lasts until next Tuesday and focuses on returning dungeons from TWW. Halls of Atonement and Tazavesh also received a significant amount of changes.

The War Within Season 3 dungeon testing continues on PTR today. The test period starts on Tuesday July 29th at 18:00 PDT (21:00 EDT, July 30th, 3:00 CEST), and ends Tuesday August 5th at 10:00 PDT (13:00 EDT, 20:00 CEST). Please note that the test period may be adjusted in the event of technical difficulties.

This week’s testing focus is on returning dungeons from The War Within:

  • Eco-Dome Al’dani
  • The Dawnbreaker
  • Ara-Kara, City of Echoes
  • Priory of the Sacred Flame
  • Operation: Floodgate
  • Halls of Atonement
  • Tazavesh: Streets of Wonder
  • Tazavesh: So’leah’s Gambit
  • Tazavesh, the Veiled Market (Hard Mode)

General adjustments

  • Item level scaling has been increased from 710 to 723 in Mythic+ keystone level 10 and higher.
  • The health of creatures in dungeons has been increased by 10%. Creature damage is unaffected.
  • Developer’s notes: Player damage is currently higher than expected. While this change won’t fully close the gap between player damage and creature health, we’re making an increase to creature health to better support class gameplay in dungeons. The net effect of this change should be that Season 3 dungeons will feel slightly easier than the equivalent difficulty of a Season 2 dungeon for a similarly geared character. We’ll continue monitoring balance throughout testing and look forward to your feedback on how this adjustment feels.
