Funcom has just unveiled the official story trailer for Dune: Awakening. Set in the harsh and mysterious deserts of Arrakis, the trailer gives you a taste of the game’s narrative direction and atmosphere. As a reminder, Dune: Awakening will launch on June 10, 2025!

Open Beta Begins Soon!
Mark your calendars: from May 9 to May 12, players will be able to participate in the biggest beta for Dune: Awakening yet. This test will feature the first 20 hours of gameplay, including a significant portion of Act 1 of the story.
Unlike previous betas, this test comes with no NDA, meaning anyone can stream, record, and share their gameplay and impressions freely!
Everyone can have a chance to gain access to the Beta weekend by simply wishlisting and requesting access on the Dune: Awakening Steam page, or by getting a Beta code that will be given out during a global broadcast on May 10!
Gameplay Features – Survival Meets MMO
Dune: Awakening blends sandbox survival gameplay with large-scale multiplayer elements, an cinematic storytelling. Here is a short recap of what you can do in the game:
- Survive Arrakis: You will have to learn the ways of the Fremen, seek shadows to escape the burning sun, craft, find water and food, build shelters, and fight your way through giant monsters!
- Explore: Arrakis is a massive open-world, and you will have to uncover all its mysteries!
- Master Desert Powers: Pick your mastery, learn how to fight, and increase your power!
- Build your Dune: Craft your own encampment and transform it into an impenetrable fortress.
- Unite and group up with other players and create your own little community.

Built on Unreal Engine 5, Dune: Awakening will take advantage of Nanite and Lumen technologies for high-fidelity visuals. NVIDIA users will be pleased to know that:
- The game will support DLSS 3 at launch.
- It will also include DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation for enhanced performance.
