Genshin Impact Patch 5.4 Increases Damage Cap to 20 Million and Players Are Already Hitting It!

One of the biggest surprises in Genshin Impact Patch 5.4 is the increase in the game’s damage cap, which has been raised from 9,999,999 to 20,000,000. This change immediately had players rushing to showcase themselves hitting new limits.

Why was the Damage Cap 9,999,999?

Before Patch 5.4, players were hard-capped at 9,999,999 damage per hit, meaning any damage higher than that would not be registered numerically. This cap was a long-standing limit that prevented even the most overpowered setups from going beyond a certain point. The reason being that in the past, players were able to hit too high that it broke the game and dealt negative damage.

This lead to the 9,999,999 cap we saw after that patch to avoid further issues.

Players Are Already Maxing Out the New Cap

It didn’t take long for players to start hitting the new damage limit, as theorycrafters and whales especially began testing extreme damage showcases within hours of the patch release.

One of the such example features Arlecchino, whose scaling with Bond of Life mechanics and Pyro-infused multipliers allows her to dish out amazing numbers under perfect conditions.

Another character quickly proving to be a top contender for damage showcases is Mavuika who has been incredibly powerful and often considered to have raised the damage ceiling in general. Her unique energy-free burst system, alongside melt reaction-based multipliers, allows her to stack absurd amounts of damage.
