What’s your most desired mount in Final Fantasy XIV? Honestly, it doesn’t matter — you need the Regalia Type-G mount from the current FFXV collab ASAP. The black exterior is sleek, the engine sounds amazing, and you can ride with three friends anywhere you want.
Unfortunately, this mount only comes around once every couple of years, so if you have the slightest desire to obtain it, you’d better do it before the event ends on October 13th. We’ll show you how to unlock the Regalia Type-G. 🔑
How Do I Unlock the Regalia Type-G Mount?
Unlocking the Regalia Type-G mount requires 200,000 Manderville Gold Saucer Points (MGP). Naturally, this means having access to the Manderville Gold Saucer, commonly referred to as simply the Gold Saucer, a casino in Southern Thanalan.
Additionally, to access the exclusive Ironworks Vendor at the Gold Saucer (X:5.2, Y:6.3), you’ll need to complete the collab event first. The NPC will hold onto your goodies until you have enough MGP to exchange. He also won’t let you preview any items until you’ve completed the event.
If you haven’t unlocked the Gold Saucer, don’t worry; it’s a quick and simple process. First, you must have a Disciple of War or Disciple of Magic job at Level 15. Second, you have to have completed one of the following main scenario quests:
If you meet these requirements, teleport to the aetheryte at Ul’dah — Steps of Nald. Leave the room where the crystal is and you’ll find an NPC with the “It Could Happen to You” quest icon across the road at X:9.6, Y:9.0. After a brief conversation, make your way to Willahelm the lift attendant at X:10.7, Y:10.3. After you arrive at the airship landing, present your Golden Airship Ticket to head to the Gold Saucer!
How Can I Earn Currency Without Much Hassle?
If you already had at least 200,000 MGP from gambling at the Gold Saucer before the event, great! You can buy the Regalia Type-G mount right away from the Ironworks Vendor at X:5.2, Y:6.3.
If you don’t have 200,000 MGP, you can earn MGP by participating in activities like Chocobo Racing, Doman Mahjong, and the Fashion Report. You can find more info in our Gold Saucer guide, but here’s a brief overview of some of the available activities, starting with the simpler ones:
- Mini Cactpot: Mini Cactpot is a simple scratch ticket lottery game that doesn’t require much thought or effort. You can purchase three tickets a day, every day. The dealer is at the main counter at X:5.1, Y:6.5.
- Jumbo Cactpot: Jumbo Cactpot is another lottery game, though this one is based purely on luck as players pick numbers hoping theirs will be the ones drawn. You can buy three tickets only once a week.
Winners are drawn on Saturdays, but drawing times differ based on your data center. Visit the broker at X:8.5, Y:5.9 to purchase your tickets, and exchange for MGP from the nearby Cashier after the Saturday drawing.
Tackling the More Complicated Activities
Doman Mahjong: If you’re brave enough to play a tile-based, Mahjong-like game in FFXIV, visit the Doman Mahjong attendant at X:7.1, Y:7.8. Like real-world Mahjong, playing this game requires skill and strategy and might take awhile to learn.
Fashion Report: Players dress up according to a specific theme in weekly contests. You receive 10,000 MGP for simply participating. If you receive a rating of 80 points or more, you’ll be awarded an additional 50,000 MGP. We highly recommend checking out KaiyokoStar’s dedicated Fashion Report website if you want to get serious about this, even after the collab ends. Talk to Lewena at X:4.8, Y:6.1 when you’re ready.
Chocobo Racing: Exactly what it sounds like. However, breeding and racing Chocobos is a bit of a process, so check out our Chocobo Racing guide for much more information. When you’re ready, head towards X:6.1, Y:4.8 to begin your journey as the next great Chocobo jockey.
There are several mini-attractions like monster claw machines scattered throughout the venue. Don’t worry about these too much, as they offer minimal amounts of MGP, but feel free to play them while you’re waiting for a duty queue. And remember, the collab ends Tuesday, October 13 at 10:59 a.m. EDT. If you don’t get the mount, you might have to wait another couple of years to unlock it again.
