Pyrois joins your roster by progressing through the Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) Version 3.0 main story, but upgrading them via mindscapes is another matter. Pyrois’ Mindscapes and W-Engine refinements are obtained through different activities in Version 3.1, making it easy to lose track of where each upgrade comes from. Here’s everything you need to know.
Where to Mindscapes for Pyrois in Zenless Zone Zero 3.1
The next two Pyrois Mindscapes (M3 and M4) are obtained through the new Enigma of the Labyrinth: Operation Bagel event, Version 3.1’s new permanent extraction mode. By completing extraction runs, you’ll earn the mode’s exclusive currency, which can exchanged in Boojee’s Store for both mindscapes. These are permanent rewards, so there’s no rush to unlock them.
The first Mindscape, called Agent Focus: Pyrois, becomes available for purchase as soon as you unlock the store, which will require you to progress a few of Operation Bagel’s early main missions. Once available, it will cost you 500000 Gear Coins to purchase.

The second Mindscape shares the same name and is also obtained from Boojee’s Store, but requires you to first upgrade the store to level 3. This is done by obtaining the necessary upgrade materials, which get increasingly more expensive and difficult to obtain in extraction runs. Once you have upgraded the store to level 3, you can purchase it for another 500000 Gear Coins.
For now, the remaining Pyrois Mindscapes won’t be available to obtain, and HoYoverse has yet to reveal how they’ll be acquired. We will update this guide as soon as more information is revealed, but its a safe bet they’ll come from Operation Bagel in future version updates.
How to Unlock Pyrois W-Engine Refinements in Zenless Zone Zero 3.1
Pyrois’s W-Engine refinements are earned separately from the Mindscapes and use their own dedicated upgrade materials. In 3.1, you will be obtain one additional refinement for Sol Exuvia in Operation Bagel currently. Like with the mindscapes, you’ll need to purchase it directly from Boojee’s Store, but unlike them, you’ll need to get and use a different currency.

In the store, the refinement is called Twilight Afterimage, and to buy it, you’ll first need to earn Season Coins. These are obtained by completing Season Commissions, which are unlocked a bit later into Operation Bagel. Just continue progressing the mode, and you’ll eventually reach the point where these missions are unlocked. Twilight Afterimage requires you to use 2000 Season Coins, to get the Sol Exuvia’s first refinement.
