The sun is out, the cicadas are singing, and Infinity Nikki is getting dressed up for one of its most anticipated updates yet: the Home system, officially arriving in version 1.9! In a newly released preview, the devs offered the first look into this magical new feature, and it is more than just a place to decorate. It is a living, evolving extension of Nikki’s journey through Miraland.
A Sanctuary in the Sky
Nikki’s Home is not just a house, it is a floating heart-shaped island, filled with multiple biomes, peaceful vistas, and a lake crowned by a massive flowering tree. At its base sits Nikki’s cozy cottage, accessible only by drifting up a petal-lined river in a tiny boat. It is a serene, magical retreat built to reflect the themes of “A Joyful, Carefree Life” and “Unleashing Whim Through Infinite Creation.”
Meet the Dock and Island Residents
The dock area serves as the hub of daily activity. There, Nikki will meet friendly island fairies, trade for furniture blueprints, and manage her home. Players will also discover resting gardens where unique plants grow over time, and find a cozy shelter where gifts from friends are displayed.
Explore, Build, and Customize Freely
Home gameplay blends relaxation and creativity. Some of the standout features include:
- Planting: Grow flowers and crops, and maybe discover rare blooms.
- Fishkeeping: Raise pond fish and exchange rare finds with dock fairies.
- Crafting: Collect materials and blueprints to craft furniture, décor, and even renovate whole sections.
- Construction Mode: Move, rotate, and scale items freely. Use pre-built templates or design from scratch.
- Float Mode: Combine abilities to create floating furniture, or even floating houses!
Advanced systems will also let players combine their Home abilities with those Nikki has gained across Miraland, unlocking even more creative tools and magical interactions.
Furniture With a Personal Touch
Over hundreds of furniture items will be available at launch. You can earn blueprints through gameplay or discover them across the open world. Highlights include:
- Photo Frame: Display your favorite memories from the journey.
- Outfit Stand: Show off your favorite looks.
- Phonograph: Collect music and set the mood with customizable tunes.
- Momo Furniture: Give your loyal companion cool, comfy furniture of his own.
Building Made Easy (and Co-Op!)
Concerned about complex building tools? Don’t worry, Infinity Nikki offers multiple build modes:
- Advanced Editing: Manually position, scale, and rotate every detail.
- Smart Brush: Quickly place pre-set structures like walls and roofs.
- Blueprint Import: Instantly apply beautiful pre-made layouts.
- Pre-Built Options: Start with ready-made houses if you’d rather skip designing.
And soon, a co-op build mode will let you invite friends to help decorate your dream island together!
Friends, Furry and Human Alike
Nikki’s Home will be open to animal companions and story characters. You will even be able to understand animals and invite them to spend time on your island. Build strong bonds with key NPCs, and they might visit, or even stay a while.
Version 1.9’s Home system is still in final testing, and more reveals are planned through the official Infinity Nikki website. If this sneak peek is anything to go by, stylists are in for a whimsical, heartfelt ride full of surprises, magic, and personal expression.
