Blizzard have a big one today, as we get a deep look into the hub city of the upcoming expansion!
It’s a huge preview, covering the whole map with over 50 points of interest! We get to see both the shared two-thirds of the city, as well as the one-third Horde-only section. You can travel around the city in many ways, from the standard flying to carriages, and orbs of translocation! Let’s take a look.
With the press of the Void’s incursion and assault on the Sunwell, the forces of the Horde and Alliance fortify within the streets of Silvermoon City. Serving as a hub for both factions, approximately one-third of the city is designated exclusively for the Horde, while the remaining two-thirds are accessible to both faction members as they work together to push back Xal’atath’s forces. The city has been rebuilt from the ground up and the path of destruction the Scourge left behind is mostly a memory.
Soaring towers resplendent in crimson and gold lead to stunning vistas of the surrounding areas. The city is worth exploring in all its many bejeweled facets: the sin’dorei culture soaked in and celebrated having triumphed over many of their trials.

Tip: Getting around the city can be as easy as taking flight on your own mount, hopping into a well-appointed carriage for a more scenic route, or using an orb of translocation to travel between levels. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, you can always ask a guard for directions. Mailboxes are also plentiful around the city and easy to find when you need one.
Sanctum of Light
The Sanctum of Light sits at the heart of the city. It’s where you’ll find Lor’themar Theron among other notable figures. Your first quests within the city begin here setting you on the path of earning reputation with the Silvermoon Court and discovering what all Eversong Woods and the city itself have to offer. As you progress in the campaign, you will return to the heart of the Sanctum to choose the path you want to take beyond Eversong Woods by using the (1) Scouting Map.
The Bazaar surrounds the heart of Silvermoon city with the Sanctum of Light at its center. Various vendors, trainers, the Barbershop, auction house, portal room, and more can be found on several levels.

This multi-level area serves as a rookery for dragonhawks. Aerieminders tend to eggs, the newly hatched, and train future mounts readying them for the day they need to take flight to protect the city. Watch your step if you venture up into the spires. It’s a long way down.

Reserved for members of the Horde, Alliance players will need to watch their step if they try to visit the Royal Quarter, Walk of Elders, Court of the Sun, Court of Blood, or The Royal exchange. While much of the city is open for access by both factions, these areas remain off limits.
If you happen to get turned around and accidentally enter, don’t worry. You will get a warning before the guards take action to remove you and the message, “The guards’ eyes are on you. Return to neutral territory” will appear. They’ll give you a little grace before things get hostile. Overstay your welcome long enough and even the citizens will join in ushering you out into neutral territory.
