It’s PvP day in WoW Forever it seems as Blizzard have another feature preview for us! This time around it’s the new 15 v 15 Dustwallow Marsh battleground featuring capture-and-hold gameplay! The Darkspear Raiders and Theramore Expeditionary Force are facing off to win the central flag and other footholds. You gain points by holding locations as well as grabbing the flag in the middle, and the first team to 2000 points wins. Each faction has their own reputation with rewards like trinkets, rings, cloaks, weapons and armor pieces. Let’s take a look!
Off the coast of Dustwallow Marsh lies the Darkspear Islands, where a new battle is taking shape. In this 15v15 battleground, the Darkspear Raiders and Theramore Expeditionary Force clash for control of strategic footholds, a central flag, and the rewards waiting for those willing to fight for their faction.
Type of Map: 15v15 Capture Point with a Flag Capture Battleground
Location: Off the Shores of Dustwallow Marsh
Player Levels: 30-60
Victory Condition: First team to 2000 Points
Your Mission: Capture and Hold
Teams earn points by controlling four capture points across the Darkspear Islands. The more capture points your team controls, the quicker your team accrues points. A flag waits in the middle of the map, giving both teams another objective to fight over. Grab it, bring it to one of the bases your team has captured, and earn more points for your side. The first team to earn 2000 points wins!
Queue Up for Battle
You can queue for the battleground in a couple of ways. Visit a battlemaster located in any major capital city or in the Barrens (Kalimdor) seek out the Darkspear Raiders base (Horde) at the Merchant Coast or Theramore Expeditionary Force (Alliance) base located at Northwatch, where a portal will take you into the battle.
These bases also include vendors with reputation rewards you can acquire as you increase your standing with the Darkspear Raiders or Theramore Expeditionary Force. In these areas, you can also pick up quests for the battleground.
Earn Battleground Rewards
There is a reputation track for each faction for the Battleground: Darkspear Raiders and Theramore Expeditionary Force. They have gear and consumables that you can purchase including trinkets, rings, cloaks, weapons, armor pieces when hitting different reputation thresholds. And of course, there are quests for the Battleground. Turn in for Marks of Honor for reputation quests and unlock a short questline at Exalted to earn the faction’s exclusive tabard.
