With the first update of WoW: Forever’s Beta, we have discovered some upcoming set items in the data. One of these new sets – Rotmender’s Raiment is already partially available from the new Ruins of Lordaeron dungeon, but other sets and items are likely coming soon!
Rotmender’s Raiment Set
This Cloth set from the Ruins of Lordaeron is the first of the new set bonuses that are actually visible in the data. This is because two of the set items are already available in-game. After the most recent update, players who previously owned the Frostbane Treads had them replaced with Rotmender’s Treads, and the Wispcloth Leggings were replaced with Rotmender’s Leggings.
While this set is great for any caster classes, the final set bonus seems especially great for healers, as it gives healing spells a chance to grant an additional Heal-over-time on the target.
The Robes, Sash, and Gloves have not been found in-game yet, but if they follow the same pattern as the Leggings and Treads, they may replace other items that currently drop in Ruins of Lordaeron, such as the Leftover Abomination Skin or Tuskwrap Belt.
Violet Sorcerer’s Vestments Set
Another set that appeared in the data of the most recent WoW: Forever build is the Violet Sorcerer’s Vestments. Unlike the Rotmender’s Raiment, the set bonus for these items has not yet been discovered. This is likely because the set items are not currently attainable in-game.
While little is known about this set, other than its name, The Violet Eye was a faction of Kirin Tor Mages from Dalaran in The Burning Crusade. This could mean that this set will drop from the upcoming City of Dalaran dungeon, which is designed for players who are level 28-33. This dungeon should become available once the Beta’s level cap is raised to level 30.
Krol’dok Battlegear Set
Again, these items are not currently obtainable by players in the Beta because of the level 20 cap, but it is expected for this set to drop in the outdoor dungeon of Krol’dok Stronghold in the Riverglades.
Blizzard clarified that the Krol’dok Stronghold is intended for players level 40-45. With all of the Cloth sets that are available, it wouldn’t be surprising if this Battlegear turned out to be a Mail or even a Plate set, intended for melee DPS such as Warriors or Retribution Paladins.
Defias Enforcer’s Garb Set
Finally, the last set that was found in the most recent batch of data is the Defias Enforcer’s Garb, which will likely drop from the new Alcaz Prison dungeon. During their What’s Next Panel, Blizzard described this upcoming dungeon as “a place where Defias once held high-ranking nobles for ransom.” This dungeon will feature encounters with the Defias and Naga, and is intended for players level 48-53.
With all other DPS classes seemingly getting new sets, it only makes sense for this new Defias set to follow the pattern of the Defias Leather set in Deadmines, meaning this will likely be a set designed for Rogues.
With Blizzard’s obfuscation of item data remaining successful, we won’t know anything about these new sets or items for sure until they are looted in-game. While we may see additional pieces of the Rotmender’s Raiment or Violet Sorcerer’s Vestments during beta, it’s unlikely that we’ll see either the Krol’dok Battlegear or the Defias Enforcer’s Garb until after the game releases later this year.
