New World Aeternum’s Hardcore Seasonal Server Recap

New World’s second (and rumored last) seasonal world just recently ended, and the team shared some interesting stats around player activities and accomplishments within this hardcore setting. For those who are not up to date on what this “hardcore” seasonal world entailed, it essentially was a unique twist to the typical New World server.

Instead of characters getting deleted upon death (like most “hardcore” game modes), they were actually buffed by gaining additional attribute points to their overall stats. The one downside was that players had to remain “unfallen” in order to obtain all of the rewards and unlock the exclusive rewards. One death meant you had to essentially restart if you were after the unique unfallen rewards!

Some players loved it, some players didn’t, but regardless, we have some numbers that were recently shared from AGS that showcases some highlights from this hardcore seasonal world!

Hardcore Mode: By the Numbers

At the heart of Hardcore Seasonal Server was a competitive leaderboard tracking the fastest players across multiple categories. The event highlighted not only speed, but precision — with separate recognition for players who avoided death entirely while achieving top clear times.

Below is a list of some players that achieved major accomplishments the fastest:

  • Fastest completion of all Seasonal Journey challenges, including deaths: Charlietea (17 hours or 1025 minutes)
  • Fastest Gorgon Raid completion (with and without deaths): RedQueen3 (181 minutes)
  • First to max level: Curiosin
  • Fastest to max level with no deaths: Captain Shug (42 minutes)
  • Fastest to max level including deaths: dabaobei (35 minutes)

Below is a list of some general accomplishments and statistics around all players that participated in the Hardcore seasonal world:

  • Players spent an average of 8 hours playing this seasonal world
  • 434 players completed all 12 Seasonal journey tasks
  • 166 Unfallen Gorgon completions
  • 68 Unfallen Sandworm completions
  • 552 Unfallen M3 Expedition completions
    • Most popular:
      • Lazarus (149)
      • Genesis (122)
    • Least popular:
      • Tempest Heart (3)
      • Depths (2)

The Future of Seasonal Worlds

In the recent announcement around some of the new features coming to season 9, AGS made a clear comment that “seasonal servers will not return in Season 9 and are not planned for future seasons”.

Players have constantly been voicing their concerns on how seasonal worlds divided the already shrinking population on existing servers within New World, and it looks like the team listened to their concerns.

As of today, there are no future plans of additional seasonal worlds coming to New World: Aeternum.
