Just a few weeks after its surprise global success, Peak has received its first major update. Patch 1.7, released on July 11, 2025, brings a bunch of new features, quality-of-life fixes, and balance changes, all delivered with the offbeat humor fans have come to love!
Developed by indie dream team Landcrab, a collab between Aggro Crab and Landfall Games, Peak challenges you to climb massive mountains together with your friends! All that while juggling survival mechanics, unpredictable physics, and the ever-present risk of falling flat on your face. Now, thanks to update 1.7, you can experience all the chaos in 12 supported languages.
Localization & Features
One of the biggest additions in Patch 1.7 is localization support. Players can now enjoy Peak in the following languages:
- English
- French
- Italian
- German
- Spanish (Spain)
- Spanish (LATAM)
- Brazilian Portuguese
- Russian
- Ukrainian
- Simplified Chinese
- Japanese
- Korean
The update also brings a return (and enhancement) to throwable item interactions. You can once again chuck items at fruits and beehives to knock them down, and now, if you try to pass your teammate a whole coconut, you might just bonk them instead.
Rope Mayhem and Balance Adjustments
The patch brings some very specific balance changes to rope-based tools:
- The Anti-Rope Spool and Anti-Rope Shooter now have a negative weight of -1, meaning they float away the moment you let go of them.
- It is unclear if this hilarious quirk is permanent or just a temporary fix, but for now, it is a new layer of chaos in an already unpredictable game.
- On the plus side, Rope Shooters and Anti-Rope Shooters now shoot 50% more rope, giving teams more creative freedom for traversal.
Additional changes include:
- Limiting Chain Launcher angles to reduce vertical exploits.
- Disabling Bugle of Friendship in solo play.
- Making ticks easier to remove for lone climbers.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
Several lingering bugs have been addressed, including:
- Fixes for non-interactable backpacks and broken campfires.
- Resolving crashes caused by explosive spores (hopefully).
- Fixes for item weight bugs, revival teleport issues, and more.
A full breakdown of fixes can be found in the official patch notes, but the big takeaway is that the developers are listening, and they are committed to polishing their new title.
The Climb Continues

Peak has become a popular indie game since launching on June 16, racking up over 1 million sales in just six days and surpassing AAA games like Elden Ring: Nightreign in revenue. With its unique mix of co-op chaos, slapstick physics, and survival, the game has found its audience, especially among Twitch streamers and content creators.
