Sandra “Mania” Powers, the visionary behind Petopia and Warcraft Mounts, has passed away after a battle with cancer on January 25.
Known for her immense contribution to the WoW community, Sandra transformed Petopia from a small resource into the ultimate guide for Hunters seeking the perfect companion.
Beyond her impact on WoW, Sandra was an MMO producer and engineer, contributing to Asheron’s Call, EverQuest II, and co-developing Project Gorgon with her husband, Eric. Her influence on the MMO genre will not be forgotten.
To honor her legacy, Blizzard has immortalized her orc persona, Mania, in-game behind Trueshot Lodge in Highmountain.
