As part of the latest WoW Forever beta update, community members datamined the build and found multiple new Mounts in the files.
Community sentiment was split on whether these datamined mounts really belonged in the “Classic” atmosphere of WoW Forever. While some praised the art style and animations of these new mounts, others grew cautious about there being too many mounts in the game.
This anxiety stems from the vast collection of mounts available in Retail WoW, many of which are only available via the in-game store.
Luckily, Blizzard saw the community discussion and stepped in to give us details. While these assets were found on the WoW Forever client, they are not intended to be released for that version of the game.
Datamined in the Latest Beta Build
A number of art assets were recently datamined in the latest Beta build of WoW Forever.
While we appreciate the feedback and discussion online, please be advised that these assets are not intended for this version of World of Warcraft.
Players can breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that these mounts are not intended for our version of the game. While it is possible that these mounts will be available in Retail, it is also possible that they could appear in the Chinese version of WoW Forever. WoW content creator MrGM recently pointed out that the turtle mount, specifically, resembles a statue that is currently viewable at China’s X Party event.
