Rextroy has once again found a bizarre way to break a raid boss, this time turning the Twin Fangs from the Venomous Abyss raid into a solo Warrior kill.
For anyone unaware, Rextroy is a well -known WoW player/content creator who finds crazy exploits, often pushing the game’s mechanics to their absolute limits. And his latest video is no exception:
Rextroy’s Twin Fangs Solo Kill
The Twin Fangs encounter has a berserk mechanic, in which the bosses spawn damaging orbs to increase pressure. Rextroy initially looked for ways to survive this phase using defensive abilities, however, due to being undergeared, he quickly abandoned this idea.
Turns out that the Twin Fangs encounter has a surprisingly large number of abilities that can be avoided by breaking the bosses’ line of sight! There was one notable exception however: the tank debuff. However, this eventually fell off by itself, leaving Rextroy with a way more manageable problem.
Rextroy discovered that the Twin Fangs’ berserk sequence isn’t permanent, with the channel lasting for a limited time. Once it ends, the encounter doesn’t quite behave as you might expect. Instead of returning to a normal rotation, the bosses become stuck repeatedly using their basic attacks.
Building his Warrior around Mastery (to boost Critical Block chance to 72%) and Haste (for infinite uptime on Shield Block), he could slowly burn them down. And after less than an hour of attacking, the Twin Fangs were finally dead!
It’s another excellent example of Rextroy finding an impossible challenge and making it possible!
