Skulls 2026 has just kicked off, and one of the first releases fans got their hands on was the new Darktide class that was previously teased. The community was, for once, 100% right, and the Skitarii are joining Darktide very soon.
The Skitarii Join Darktide
For once, the community was completely right in their predictions. The Adeptus Mechanicus will not sit idle while the secrets of Hive Tertium fall into the hands of heretics. So, naturally, the only right thing to do is deploy the basics of their infantry forces to help guard what secret tech lies deep in Tertium. The flesh is weak, metal is strong.
Sadly, players won’t be able to get their hands on the Skitarii until Jun 23, 2026, aka 4 weeks from now.
Will the Skitarii fit in with the Rejects?
One of the more important aspects of Darktide is the banter between the different characters and background types. While the community has asked for the Skitarii for some time, there is a slight worry that they won’t be exceptionally talkative. Most Skitarii are built primarily for combat and don’t exactly excel at quality banter.
Perhaps Fatshark will bend the rules a bit, just as they did with Ogryns, to make their interactions more entertaining. Ultimately, this wouldn’t be the first time they did this, not only with Ogryns but also with Psykers.
