Stardew Valley has surpassed Portal 2 to become Steam’s top-rated game, with over 900,000 votes and a score of 8.87, according to Steam250. Portal 2 remains in the second spot with over 400,000 votes and a score of 8.85.

Stardew Valley – Thriving Even After A Decade
Stardew Valley, developed by ConcernedApe, was released on Steam in February 2016. The title has consistently maintained a significant player base throughout the years. The game has received multiple free updates, and the cozy nature of the experience only heightens its popularity among fans.
On the other hand, Valve released Portal 2 in 2011. While its popularity has dwindled in recent years, the game is still remembered as a classic and an exceptional sequel to Portal.
As an indie title, Stardew Valley’s success as the top-rated game of all time shows that a game doesn’t have to be an AAA title to be loved by fans.
Others On The List
The list features Stardew Valley as currently the top-rated title on Steam, with Portal 2 slightly behind in the number two spot. Meanwhile, Terraria stays comfortably in third place with over 1,420,000 votes and a score of 8.82.
People Playground and Left 4 Dead 2 are in the fourth and fifth spots, respectively. Portal, the prequel to Portal 2, is also on the list at number ten.
Schedule 1, which was released in 2025 and has become a huge sensation worldwide, has secured the number nine spot among the top-10 highest-rated titles on Steam of all time.
The list continues to change as more people cast their votes. Over the years, we may see other titles snatch the number one spot from Stardew Valley. But for now, fans of the game can proudly say that their favorite is the top-rated title on Steam.
