Mount Trainer in Mulgore Wow Forever

Stop Wasting Silver Early in WoW Forever if You Want Your Level 40 Mount

World of Warcraft: Forever is officially live, and while the hustle and bustle of questing is still underway, players are going to need a lot of gold to purchase some of the most important items down the line.

Just as in Classic WoW, you will be able to purchase a rideable mount at level 40 with the use of in-game currency at several different trainers around the world. Mount riding costs a hefty price tag, so getting a lot of gold early on is your best chance at being able to afford your mount at both level 40 and 60. The price depends on the riding skill level; for level 40 riding, it is free and bundled with the purchase of the Riding Skill.

How to Afford Your Level 40 Mount

There are best practices for getting 100 Gold for your level 40 mount, which would include professions, questing, and selling on the Auction House. Since there is no WoW Token in WoW: Forever, making gold on your own is crucial to your success.

Gathering professions will always be the most profitable, which includes Skinning, Herbalism, and Mining. Farming cloth from humanoids is another reliable source of gold and you don’t need a profession to do it. Disenchanting items as and Enchanter will give you materials to sell on the Auction House as well.

As for crafting professions, Tailoring, Engineering, Leatherworking, and Blacksmithing are great for playing the Auction House. Tailoring is always highly successful at the start of any WoW expansion or version, as they can craft bags that many players will want to get their hands on as soon as possible.

Questing is one of the more “slept on” ways to make gold. Completing quests, especially during the mid to late-game is a great way to bolster your pockets. Side quests and main story questlines will give you a hefty chunk of change upon completion, and since you will be leveling up anyway, it goes in tandem.

Another major factor is gold spending early on. As you progress on your character, you will need to train for new spells and abilities. There are some abilities you can put off and don’t need to spend on immediately, such as Eyes of the Beast as a Hunter, which will help you save a bit of silver.

You will also want to purchase larger bags as soon as possible; that way, you can gather more materials, gray items to sell to a vendor, and make sure you aren’t wasting time making trips back and forth to a vendor early on.

Be a Paladin or Warlock

Some classes, such as Paladin and Warlock, get a Class mount at level 40, rather than having to purchase the riding skill like every other class. Paladins must complete a brief questline to get their riding skill from their class trainer, while Warlocks need to hit level 40 and purchase the Felsteed from theirs.

Getting the epic mount is a bit more tedious for Paladins and Warlocks, as they must farm raw materials rather than gold.

Here is a quick rundown of each riding trainer and their location for both Horde and Alliance:

Most races and classes have their specific riding trainers, as mentioned above, which will cost 100 Gold to train for the Riding Skill itself. You will then need to purchase a mount to ride at level 60, if you don’t already have one from purchasing game upgrades (Cerulean Prideclaw or the scaling Veteran Adventurer’s Loyal Companion).
