Fallout 3 - Fallout New Vegas

That Fallout Title “We Are All Wanting” Might Actually Be Real

A recent Reddit thread caused quite a big discussion after someone highlighted a moment from the latest Friends Per Second podcast, where VGC’s Jordan Middler hinted that “that one you’re all wanting” Fallout project is in development. That line alone sent the community into full speculation mode. Could this finally mean a Fallout 3 remaster, a New Vegas follow-up, or something else entirely?

What Middler Said

During the podcast, Middler said this:

“There are multiple Fallout projects in development, including, as far as I’m aware , that one you’re all wanting. But it’s not far enough along to say anything that’s like, ‘You’re going to be playing this game anytime soon.’”

You can also watch the full podcast episode here (though the link below is timestamped at the Fallout discussion):

Obviously, this line was reason enough for many fans to get excited over on Reddit, with users wishing for Fallout 3 and New Vegas remasters or even a full sequel.

Fan Theories Heating Up

Some of the top Reddit reactions include:

“I read ‘the one you’re all wanting’ as something New Vegas related.”
“Fallout 5 from BGS won’t get full production till after ES6… we won’t see it till mid-2030s.”

And here is a quick look at what people are speculating:

  • Fallout 3 Remaster: Leaked in 2023 alongside Oblivion Remastered rumors.
  • Fallout: New Vegas 2 or Remaster: With Obsidian’s talent back on board, the timing feels right.
  • Fallout 5: Confirmed by Todd Howard, but Elder Scrolls VI will land first, so probably not until the 2030s.

Why Now Feels Different

Momentum for a new Fallout project feels stronger now than it has in years. The Fallout TV show’s success and the Fallout 4 next-gen update brought a lot of new players in. On top of that, Microsoft now owns both Bethesda and Obsidian, which makes a New Vegas follow-up more realistic than ever.

And Middler’s comment confirms that more than one Fallout project is happening behind the scenes.

What Could Be Next? Possible Timeline:

TitleStatusLikely Timing
Fallout 3 RemasterRumored, likely active project2025–2026
New Vegas Remake/SequelSpeculation, Obsidian-linkedPost-Fallout 3
Fallout 5In early planning, post-ES6Probably 2030+

No official announcements yet, so for now, we wait. But do not be surprised if something is teased once Elder Scrolls VI development wraps up.

In the meantime, we can expect Reddit to stay busy picking apart every new interview, X post, and job listing.

And what about Obsidian? With some New Vegas veterans back in the mix, the hope for a sequel is higher than it has been in years.

The Fallout Future Is Bright (Eventually)

Multiple Fallout projects are in the works, and the mysterious “one we’re all wanting” might finally be real. Regardless of whether or not that means Fallout 3, New Vegas, or Fallout 5, it feels like we are closer to something new than we have been in a long time. Just do not expect to play it anytime soon…
