Summer Game Fest saved one of its biggest announcements for last. And by biggest, we mean really, really BIGGEST! Just when it seemed the show was ending, Square Enix stepped onto the stage to finally reveal the third and final chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake project.
The game is officially called Final Fantasy VII: Revelation.
The reveal trailer showed us what comes next for Cloud, Tifa, Barret, and the rest of the party following the events of Rebirth. Square Enix also gave a small gameplay introduction, showing images of the Highwind, the story, and Vincent Valentine! And the video made it clear that the journey is heading toward its conclusion.
The End of the Remake Trilogy
Back when Final Fantasy VII Remake started, Square Enix’s ambitious plan to retell one of gaming’s most beloved stories across multiple games seemed crazy. That journey continued with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth that expanded the world far beyond Midgar and left us with more questions than answers.
Now, Revelation will bring the trilogy to its finale.
As expected, it looks INSANE!
The trailer showcased much more than a few familiar faces, large-scale battles, and some amazing environments. We get new gameplay, new characters, the huge weapons, and more!

Final Fantasy Fans Finally Have Their Answer
For months, fans have been wondering when Square Enix would finally reveal the third game’s title.
Some expected the announcement later this year. Instead, they chose Summer Game Fest’s biggest show to make it official. With Final Fantasy 7: Revelation now revealed, the countdown toward the conclusion of Cloud’s journey has officially started.
Square Enix also gave a release window planned for spring 2027 on ALL platforms, but for many, simply seeing the title appear was enough to make this the most memorable moment of the entire show.
