The First Midnight Raid DPS Logs Are In: These Specs Lead Day One

The Midnight raids are finally here! Both the US and EU had at least one day to go for the two raids, so it’s time to take a very preliminary look at the logs. The Unholy buffs had even less time to change the logs, but they’ve already lifted the spec from the very bottom to the middle, so expect it to go up even further with more logs.

Note: We are using normalized scores instead of raw DPS for the Warcraft Logs rankings. Normalized scores take into account the outlier boss fights where certain specs could stack massive DPS (due to the nature of the fight, whether it’s AoE spam or something else), which would then affect their overall score for the whole raid.

Overall Damage 95th Percentile

We have two specs very close together at the very top, as Demonology grabs the No.1 spot and Devastation makes a comeback! Marksmanship is also relatively close to the top two, while everyone else is a bit more behind. The new spec in town didn’t quite manage to break the top 10 after its 4% nerf, but it’s sitting right outside. We have two Warlocks in the top 10, one of two classes to get that distinction, as Destruction claims No.6. The other double-top-10 class is Hunter, as Survival snags the final top 10 spot.

At the bottom we see two specs in need of the similar type of attention Unholy got, as Elemental and BM are quite a ways down, even from Frost DK.

The Evoker gets the upper hand in the general bracket, but just barely. Frost Mage is also doing better, as it takes Fury down a peg. Retribution is well within the top 10 here and in the top percentiles, so no Discord pauses need to ensue… yet. Survival and Windwalker hold down the fort at the end of the top 10, while the bottom 3 are the same as above.

Boss Only Damage All Percentiles

The direct damage logs show us Frost Mage and Destruction are doing better than the normal charts, but it’s Feral and Assassination that are getting the biggest benefit from the single-target life.

Individual Bosses

We have two raids to contend with so we’ll be looking at the single-boss Dreamrift and at the later bosses of Voidspire. The final boss of Voidspire only had very few logs so we’re skipping it for now.

Chimaerus (Dreamrift)

Lightblinded Vanguard (Penultimate Voidspire boss)

This is just the first day or two of the raid, so we should expect some big changes by the end of the reset. However, based on previous raids, the rankings do tend to at least resemble the early days, so it’s a good barometer for what to expect, especially for the very top specs.

As always, you can check out our tier lists and our class guides, updated with the latest changes! And for even more stats, head on over to Warcraft Logs.
