One thing that many players look forward to while leveling a new character in WoW Classic is the opportunity to increase their power level by upgrading their weapons. In WoW Forever, players can also look forward to planning their route to complete dungeon quests and earn their level 30 weapon.
With changes to low-level dungeon gear in the WoW Forever beta, some players have feared that Blizzard would nerf their favorite leveling weapons as well. After this week’s most recent beta update, some players even reported that famous weapons such as Outlaw Sabre and Thrash Blade were nerfed into the ground.
While images such as these were shared across the internet, WoW Forever Senior Game Designer, Aidan ‘Zirene’ Moon, assured players that these changes were not real and that Outlaw Sabre would remain a Blue quest reward.
Players could breathe a sigh of relief learning that one of their best leveling weapons would remain intact. However, once the hysteria began, others continued to climb onto the bandwagon, sharing memes related to their favorite weapons receiving similar nerfs.
Clearly, the above image was created as a joke, but some across the web didn’t fully read the “Grants an extra miss on your next swing” portion. Famously, Thrash Blade provides the opposite effect, granting players an additional swing when it procs. While this joke went over some heads, Zirene once again put the rumors to rest, assuring players that Thrash Blade would not be nerfed.
While some low-level dungeon items were changed from Green to Blue-quality in a recent update, it doesn’t appear that Blizzard has any plans to nerf your favorite leveling weapons in WoW Forever.
