After 2.5 years the FFXIV-FFXV collab event, A Nocturne for Heroes, will return and with it the opportunity to acquire items inspired by Final Fantasy XV! If you’ve ever seen another player ride their Regalia Type-G 4-seater mount across Eorzea in style and wanted one for yourself, you’ll soon be able to snag one. The collab runs from Thursday, September 24 to Tuesday, October 13, so you’ll have plenty of time.
How Do I Start the FFXIV-FFXV Collab Event?
After the event starts on September 24, initiate “The Man in Black” event by talking to our old friend Kipih Jakkya in Ul’dah, Steps of Nald at X:8.5, Y:9.7. You might remember her from previous FFXIV-FFXV collabs and other events such as “Lightning Strikes” in 2013 and “The Make It Rain Campaign” in 2023. To start the quest, you must have a Disciple of War or Disciple of Magic job at Level 50 or above and have completed the main scenario quest “The Ultimate Weapon.”
If you’ve played this event in 2019, 2021, or 2024, you can continue where you left off. Check your in-game journal to see what you need to do by accessing Complete > Other Quests > Special Quests and refer to the following:
To start the “In the Dark of Night” quest, speak with Kipih Jakkya if the following quest in your journal is marked “Complete”:
Speak with Noctis himself in New Gridania at X:11.4, Y:11.3 to start the “Messenger of the Winds” quest if the following quests are marked as “Complete”:

- “In the Dark of Night”
Check your journal for instructions if any of the following quests are listed under “Current Quest”:
- “The Man in Black”
- “In the Dark of Night”
- “Messenger of the Winds”
What Are the Rewards This Time?
The rewards for the new FFXIV-FFXV collab event are the same as in previous years. If you’ve already collected everything, you can sit this one out and fill out your Beastmaster bestiary. Or you can enter the FFXIV Instax photo contest before it ends on September 30.
However, if this is your first FFXV collab event or you’ve missed past event items, here’s what you can earn:

- Lucian Prince’s Attire (contains Lucian Prince’s Jacket, Lucian Prince’s Fingerless Gloves, Lucian Prince’s Bottoms, and Lucian Prince’s Boots)

- Hammerhead Orchestrion Roll
- Valse di Fantastica Orchestrion Roll
- Relax and Reflect Orchestrion Roll

If you’re a Final Fantasy XV fan, you definitely won’t want to miss out on this event. FFXV isn’t my personal favorite Final Fantasy title, but that Regalia mount is a must-have. The transformation it undergoes when it takes flight is marvelous. 🚗
