The first week of any new season always comes with a mix of excitement, uncertainty, and “what should I actually be playing?” Well, AttitudeAdjusterSE on Reddit made an infographic that gives us the perfect snapshot of how things stand in Week 1 of Midnight Season 1.
The graph compares how much damage each DPS spec is doing in Heroic Raids, against how many players are actually playing it. Of course, this season has its meta classes, but performance and popularity don’t always line up.
At the top end, Demonology Warlock and Frost Mage are both doing great DPS and seeing tonnes of play. Marksmanship Hunter and Retribution Paladin are in a similar spot—maybe not peak in damage, but popular because they’re consistent and familiar.
Unholy Death Knight had a bit of an uncertain start to the season, but recent buffs have clearly brought it back in line.
