EverStone Studio’s Where Winds Meet will let you head into China’s Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, a time of conflict, opportunity, and adventure. In-game, you will be able to move around freely, fight anyone, and live your own story in a fully immersive world with branching scenarios, side quests, and meaningful choices.
You can watch the full stream below, but if you want a short recap, this page covers the main information you need to remember!
Gameplay Freedom
At the heart of Where Winds Meet lies its core philosophy: “Freedom like the wind.”
You are not bound to a single path or role and can either live as a hero, wanderer, scholar, or outlaw, all while crafting your own legend in a world that reacts to your choices.
Quests can be approached in multiple ways as well. You can use persuasion, trade, stealth, or direct combat, which allows you to solve any conflict however you see fit.
The world itself is deeply interactive, too. You can fish with a rope, perform Tai Chi, or even break walls using martial arts skills. Every building is accessible, and almost every object or NPC can be interacted with. With so many activities to choose from, exploration feels alive and unpredictable.
Weapons and Combat
Combat in Where Winds Meet is fast, flexible, and cool-looking, featuring traditional weapons like swords, spears, and Mo blades, as well as creative tools like fans and umbrellas. Each weapon comes with 12 Martial Arts sets and 23 mystical techniques, choreographed with help from Stephen Tung Wai, a four-time Hong Kong Film Award winner for Best Action Choreography.

The Rope Dart was also revealed. It is a new weapon with the purpose of clever and flexible combat, which helps you to better exploit enemies’ weaknesses. True to wuxia philosophy, it proves that “softness can conquer hardness, and even a mouse can face a tiger.”
More weapons and techniques are in development and will be added in the future.
Explore Qinghe and Kaifeng
Qinghe is the starting point in Where Winds Meet. It is a calm region of plains, villages, and hidden secrets. Beneath its calm surface, mysteries are just waiting to be revealed, from caves of martial secrets to haunted ruins and hidden legends.
Kaifeng, in contrast, is the animated heart of civilization, home to over 10,000 NPCs. Here, players can duel, trade, or befriend various NPCs, but also discover over 1,200 cultural artifacts that turn exploration into a journey through a real living heritage.
A Hero’s Journey
As the pre-launch stream revealed, the protagonist starts in Qinghe under the care of Aunt Han and Uncle Jiang. When a mysterious figure steals the protagonist’s jade pendant, this personal quest will quickly escalate into a massive conspiracy.
In Kaifeng, the story goes even deeper and revolves around the “Gold-Making Vessel”, an artifact rumored to hold miraculous powers or a darker truth. You can uncover clues through both main story chapters and hidden side quests. Those are scattered throughout the world via books, NPCs, and even random encounters.
The Art of Beauty and Realistic Authenticity
Every city, costume, and structure in Where Winds Meet has been carefully crafted based on historical records and ancient art, with the goal of mixing realism and beauty into every scene.

The team at EverStone has recreated realistic, millennia-old poetry and architecture, breathing new life into classical Chinese culture. From impressive mountain peaks to quiet river valleys, every location is fully explorable and designed to capture the feeling of a real, living world.
