Silken Court, the 7th boss in Nerub-ar Palace, has become a significant roadblock for Mythic raiders. With 928 guilds stuck at this boss and more guilds completing the full 8/8 raid than those managing 7/8, it’s clear that something about this encounter feels off!
Raiders have voiced their concerns on Reddit about the fight’s design, which demands extensive preparation, precision, and coordination! Guilds have reported needing 60+ pages of raid plans just to deal with this encounter, raising questions about whether the boss’s difficulty is overshadowing the fun factor of progression…
Why is Silken Court so Challenging?
The main mechanic of the fight has players divided into red and blue teams, and touching a member of the opposite color results in instant death. Additionally, whenever players are hit, orbs will spawn that need to be soaked by the opposite color team without exceeding three soaks per player.
Phases 2 and 3 add complex web pull mechanics, requiring flawless positioning to avoid collisions and to soak orbs. Thus, a single mistake can wipe the entire raid.
For many raiders, this level of complexity feels more like solving a puzzle than enjoying a raid. While some find satisfaction in perfecting “the dance”, others describe it as tedious and frustrating, especially for guilds progressing at the pace of their slowest member.
Will Blizzard answer and nerf Mythic Silken Court?
