Zenless Zone Zero is really preparing for its next big update! HoYoverse has dropped a short teaser announcing the upcoming Season 3 reveal, titled “Before the Wind Rises.”
The full teaser will go live on April 30 at 12:00 PM (UTC+8), but even this brief preview already hints at many interesting things about the game. We do not want to spoil too much for you, so you can just check out the teaser if you want a first look at the floating city (that seems themed a little bit on the London side), the possible new outfits for the Proxies, and of course, the new agents!
Welcome to Roscaelifer
Season 3 will take us to Roscaelifer, a new location that stands out immediately from everything we have seen so far.
Described as a floating aerial city, it is presented as a kind of hidden refuge that has existed since the Old Eridu era. It will have a very different tone from previous areas. Roscaelifer leans into a softer, almost nostalgic atmosphere where everyday life is mixed with retrofuturistic elements, and it gives a “home in the sky” feeling. It is described as a “dream city where Bangboo and humans live in harmony“.
Expect things like flying taxis, cafés, jazz bars, and small environmental details that tell their own stories. The devs clearly want this area to feel more personal rather than purely mission-driven, like a random summer afternoon, where you and your friends are just sitting in the park, relaxing under a tree.
Two New Agents Revealed
This is not the only teaser HoYoverse dropped today! You can also take a look at two upcoming Agents who have been introduced, both expected to play a role in Season 3. We have already seen them, but we do not know much about them yet.
Velina
- A high-ranking figure in Roscaelifer
- Introduced as the head of the External Strategy Department
- Wind Anomaly Agent, so most likely the first Wind Agent you will encounter
Norma
- A more eccentric, tech-focused character
- Fire Stun Agent
It is pretty clear already that they will most likely complement each other. Not only do they come from the same Faction, but I am guessing they will also work very nicely together in a team during fights.
A Different Direction for Season 3
Between the new town and the introduction of a Wind attribute, Season 3 is definitely preparing for a lot of changes, and that seems like a good thing so far! A new setting and a new element also mean new combat mechanics and “open-world” mechanics, so new things for us to experience and have fun!
We will probably get more information soon, but for now, Roscaelifer already looks like one of the game’s most unique regions yet.
