World Bosses are back to being pushovers in Season 1, but not all the time it seems!
On the rare occasions Helltides and World Boss spawns overlap, there’s an added degree of difficulty to them. Murray1337 witnessed as much during a recent Helltide. Even before the boss arrived there were a whole lot of dead players around!
Let’s hope that wasn’t Hardcore!
Seeing things like this really makes me wish for more difficult and complex World Bosses, where players actually need to play well and together, like way back in the early betas. Missing the Ashava’s Horn trophy by about 10 seconds due to just slightly too little DPS (and me dinging 20 about 2 minutes before the final boss spawn) is still one of my favorite D4 memories. And while the simple addition of Helltide meteors seems like a very small thing, it certainly makes things more interesting.
We then have a very different type of “difficulty” on the Helltide Ashava. A player and their group may have gotten their loot defeated by the Helltide timer!
Helltides are still some of the most fun there is to be had in Diablo 4, especially after the recent density increases. Hopefully we can see them get expanded in some way – Helltide dungeons anyone?
