Weapon Changes in Diablo 4 Season 5

Blizzard has updated class restrictions on weapons in Diablo 4 Season 5 and inherent affixes on multiple Weapon Types. Find out what’s new!

Some Class Restrictions from Weapons Lifted

Starting in Season 5:

  • Druids can use Polearms, Two-Handed Swords, and Daggers.
  • Sorcerer can use One-Handed Swords, and One-Handed Maces, including AzurewrathAzurewrath and DoombringerDoombringer.
  • Necromancers can use All Maces & Axes, including The Butcher's CleaverThe Butcher’s Cleaver.

Inherent Affixes on Weapon Types Updated

Blizzard outlined some changes coming to the inherent affixes on weapon types.

As you can see in the image above:

  • The inherent affix on Axes changed to Damage Over Time.
  • The inherent affix on Wands changed to Vulnerable Damage.
  • The inherent affix on Scythes changed to Summoning Damage.
  • The inherent affix on Staves changed to Damage Over Time.
  • Bows have been updated to Critical Strike Damage.
  • Polearms have been changed to Vulnerable Damage.
  • Focus and Totem inherent affix changed to Lucky Hit Chance.
